Virginian

This blog post was originally written on September 21, 2021

I saw that the Virginian passed through Hamilton 9 minutes beforehand. I rushed around to get ready for the train chase to ensue. In a record 15 minutes, I had showered, dressed, grabbed everything I needed for the day and headed out. I tried to estimate where I had the best chance of intersecting it and headed for Eaton. I got there and there was a yellow signal through town. I kept checking and checking for updates on where this engine was out. I finally sent out a request and heard back shortly that the train was stopped at a siding in Seven Mile. As the time was drawing closer to my appointment I headed to the town of Camden. I received word that it had departed from Seven Mile after an almost 2 hour delay. I only had to wait about 5 more minutes before this beauty of a heritage unit came rolling through leading the train. Here are a couple of pictures from this successful chase thanks to some fellow railfans providing me updates as to its location.
