GEMS+H:
The Stories That Bind Us

Education: Inspiring Curiosity and Lifelong Learning
Education is the "E" in GEMS+H because every learner has the potential to discover something new. I believe meaningful education begins with curiosity—asking questions, making connections, solving problems, and discovering that learning is more than simply knowing the answer.

Whether I am teaching a student, mentoring a teacher, designing an educational resource, or presenting to educators, my goal is the same: to make learning meaningful and help people discover what they are capable of achieving.

My Educational Journey
My career in education began long before GEMS+H had a name.

For more than a decade, I served in Texas public schools as a teacher, team leader, department chair, and administrative intern. Along the way, I learned that some of the most important moments in education happen when someone suddenly makes a connection—when a difficult concept finally makes sense, when a student discovers a strength they didn't know they had, or when a teacher finds a new way to reach a learner.

Those experiences shaped the way I approach education today.
The Story Behind JETEC Educational Services
In 2011, I founded JETEC Educational Services around a simple idea: learning should be engaging, purposeful, and accessible to every student.

Although JETEC never formally launched as a commercial educational company, the vision behind it became the foundation for years of classroom innovation, grant-funded projects, tutoring programs, teacher mentoring, and educational leadership.

The name may belong to the past, but the philosophy lives on.

JETEC was never really about a company. It was about a belief in what education could become.

Today, that belief remains part of my work through GEMS+H.
Teaching & Leadership Experience

Throughout my educational career, I have had opportunities to:

-
Help open a new school and establish campus culture and expectations
-
Mentor new teachers, including alternative-certification candidates
-
Design tutoring and Saturday enrichment programs
-
Develop inclusive classrooms
-
Serve as a district liaison for social studies and instructional improvement
-
Lead teams and support teacher development
-
Integrate technology and innovative instructional strategies
-
Create learning experiences that connect multiple subjects

Grants, Innovation & Educational Leadership

I have also secured and managed more than $15,000 in competitive education foundation grants, using those resources to create hands-on learning experiences connecting mathematics, science, literacy, and enrichment.

I have presented at both regional and state conferences, including Region 10 ESC and the Texas Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (TASCD).
Education Through the GEMS+H Lens
Every lesson begins with a question.

What do I want students to discover?

What connections can help them understand it?

How can I make the learning meaningful?

How can I give students an opportunity to see themselves as capable learners?

I believe the best learning experiences do more than deliver information. They encourage students to ask questions, make connections, explore possibilities, and discover something for themselves.

Curiosity begins the journey.
Questions lead to discovery.
Connections deepen understanding.
And discovery inspires lifelong learning.

My Educational Philosophy
I believe education is more than helping students pass a test.

It is about building confidence, encouraging curiosity, developing character, and helping each learner discover that they are capable of more than they imagined.

The most meaningful learning happens when students become curious enough to ask questions, confident enough to explore the answers, and engaged enough to make connections for themselves.

Whether I am working with students, mentoring teachers, or speaking to educational organizations, my goal is always the same:

to inspire curiosity, encourage discovery, and cultivate lifelong learning.
Continuing to Learn
My own education continues today.

Through graduate studies and continued professional development, I explore technology, gamification, artificial intelligence, and innovative instructional strategies while developing new resources and learning experiences for today's students.

Because a teacher who stops learning cannot continue to inspire learners.

Looking Ahead
The spirit of JETEC Educational Services continues to live in my work today.

The name may have begun with an educational organization, but the idea has grown far beyond it: learning is a lifelong journey of curiosity, discovery, connection, and growth.

That philosophy now lives within GEMS+H—whether I am teaching, speaking, researching history, exploring genealogy, studying Freemasonry, or discovering the story behind a stamp.
Education is the foundation of growth — whether in the classroom, the lodge, or the community.
