One of the lessons I learned as I prepared to serve as Worshipful Master was that strong organizations are built through strong relationships.

With that in mind, I joined the Order of the Eastern Star in October 2024 with a specific purpose: to help strengthen the longstanding partnership between Washington Lodge #17 and Washington Chapter #195. I believed that when our two organizations worked together, both would benefit through greater fellowship, shared service, and a renewed sense of community.

 

That vision quickly became a reality.

 

Throughout my year in the East, the members of Washington Chapter graciously began preparing dinners for our lodge's stated meetings and special events, creating opportunities for members of both organizations to spend more time together. Those simple acts of hospitality helped restore a spirit of cooperation that enriched our temple and strengthened the friendships between our members.

Looking back, I realize the greatest accomplishment wasn't a title or an office. It was seeing two Masonic organizations working side by side once again, each supporting the other in ways that benefited everyone involved.

As that partnership continued to grow, I was honored to be asked to serve as Aide to the Worthy Matron for the 2026–2027 year. I look forward to continuing to strengthen the relationship between our organizations and helping build on the foundation we have worked together to restore.
