Railfanning

My journey into railfanning began in childhood, sparked by a wind-up train that was one of my first toys. At four, my family moved to Long Island, New York, where my backyard featured a swingset. I would often climb to the top of the monkey bars to peer over the fence, mesmerized by the Long Island Railroad trains whizzing by on their way to New York City. Each trip into the City with my parents deepened my fascination, especially with the bustling Penn Station, where a man would announce from the glass window, "Now boarding on Track 13, the Capitol Limited with stops in Newark, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C., and all points in between.

Throughout my childhood, my parents introduced me to the joy of tourist train rides and visits to railroad museums. As I grew older, I ventured into the hobby of railfanning, where I found joy in photographing various trains. This passion has taken me to many remarkable places across the country that I might not have otherwise explored. On this page, I’m excited to share a collection of the photos I’ve captured over the years.
