Glendale was the first planned railroad commuter town in the US and became a place for the wealthy businessmen of Cincinnati to live. In 1976 it received the Historic Landmark Designation given by the Department of the Interior. It still is along a busy railroad line even today. Its depot has been turned into a museum.
